Sutton Staithe Sutton Staithe

Sutton

Sutton Staithe lies at the head of Sutton Broad, though this is a misnomer as the Broad isn't broad at all. It is however very picturesque. It's very close to Stalham and has a population of around 1,200 people. It is a 30 minute drive from central Norwich.

Things to see and do:
Sutton Staithe boatyard hires out self drive dayboats on which to explore the upper reaches of the River Ant, arguably the prettiest of the Norfolk Broads' rivers. A 20 minute walk will take you to the small town of Stalham, which houses the Broads Museum, with it's collection of marine and land exhibits from life on the Broads through the 19th and 20th centuries. More information HERE. You are less than 5 miles from the coastal village of Sea Palling, with it's wonderful sandy beaches.

Local pubs, restaurants:
The Sutton Staithe Hotel is a characterful building by the river. It is popular with both locals and holidaymakers, offering bar food and restaurant dining. The nearest other public houses are in nearby Stalham - see out guide HERE.

Cafes and takeaways:

There are no cafes or takeaways in Sutton. See the Stalham directory linked above.

Other Shops:
The nearest food shops are in nearby Stalham, which has a Tesco supermarket, newsagents, butchers and a pharmacy. If you like wandering around garden centres, Sutton has a fair sized one in the village, the other side of the A149 from the hotel.
