Upton is everything you would expect of a sleepy Norfolk country village. It's adjacent to the River Bure, connected by the aptly named Upton Dyke. The village has a population of around 700 inhabitants and takes around 20 minutes to drive the 13 miles from central Norwich.
Things to see and do:
The River Bure is on your doorstep and should you want to see some of the Broadland villages, you are able to hire a self-drive dayboat from Bridgecraft, in nearby Acle. From here, you can also catch a train to Norwich to spend the day sightseeing this fine city, or go in the opposite direction to the seaside town of Great Yarmouth. For those who like to walk, The White Horse public house has got together with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, to produce some guided walk leaflets exhibiting the best of the area.
